We have an exciting new opportunity for a Pharmacy leader to be at the forefront of patient care as a specialist in and lead of a team of pharmacy technicians within the ED and AMU at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.

The role is spread across the two main hospital sites William Harvey and Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. Within this role you will have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills, enhance clinical skills, and contribute to service development in an ever-growing team.

Main Duties
  • The post holder will act as Deputy to the Lead Clinical Pharmacy Technician in supporting in the delivery of a consistent and comprehensive Trustwide clinical service across the three sites.
  • To act as line manager for clinical Pharmacy Technicians within Urgent and Emergency Care and help manage clinical activities for pharmacy staff not under their line management.
  • To manage recruitment, training, supervision and development of members of the team to ensure a safe and consistent service is maintained.
  • To support the training and assessment of staff training or rotating through the clinical service.
  • To act as a role model for all staff members and provide professional support to team members.

The trust has invested significantly in developing new roles within ED and AMU for pharmacy technicians. Both Emergency Departments are new facilities which include ePMA and automated medicines cabinets.

Estimated salary: £42,500 - £62,500 per annum.
