UK&I Sales Strategy Director

As a key leader of the UK&I Consumer Commercial Team, this position is responsible for setting the strategic direction and building a high-performing team to strengthen relationships with the retailers in order to deliver business goals and drive profitable growth.
This role is a key advocate of McCormick & Company in the UK&I market and heavily externally focused. The individual is responsible for bringing the voice of the customer alive in the business and helping McCormick & Company to adjust its strategies in order to be successful with the UK&I retailers.
This role is a key member of the UK&I Consumer Leadership Team, working cross-functionally in order to set the direction for the business and deliver its short and long-term goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develops a strategic business plan to include sales, gross margin, areas of opportunities, and profit objectives, working closely with sales management.
- Removes barriers for external sales forces to accomplish goals and objectives, maintaining relationships at the highest organizational levels within the company and with customers.
- Directs project and resources to gain maximum headspace penetration, working with McCormick & Company management and client executives.
- Directs the strategic sales effort to win and maintain business, accountable for cultivating senior relationships at strategic accounts.
- Develops and manages direct reports and mentors broader talent, leading McCormick & Company teams regularly and informally, generating ideas and helping lead project teams to solve problems.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven FMCG sales experience working with the UK retailers, with a track record of building trust and winning relationships with the UK's biggest retailers.
- Experience developing people and leading high-performing teams, with a strong ability to inspire and set the direction.
- Self-starter with a strong ability to communicate, think strategically, build relationships, and negotiate effectively.
- Experience managing >$100M P&L's, with a track record for delivering profitable growth and market share gains.
- Able to build relationships at the highest organizational levels within the company and with strategic customers.
- Understands key financial drivers and has developed effective systems to monitor accounts and territory.
