We are seeking an experienced Developmental Psychology Professional to join our team in Wrexham. The successful candidate will work alongside other clinicians to provide high-quality psychological assessments, formulations, interventions and support to children and young people with learning disabilities.

About the Role

You will have the opportunity to develop and deliver evidence-based adapted psychological therapies to address mental health difficulties, psychological distress and behaviours of concern. You will also work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and develop service innovations.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

">
  • ">
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and formulate treatment plans for children and young people with learning disabilities.">
  • Develop and deliver evidence-based adapted psychological therapies to address mental health difficulties, psychological distress and behaviours of concern.">
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and develop service innovations.">
  • Provide clinical supervision and training to junior staff members.">

Person Specification

">
  • ">
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Clinical Psychologist.">
  • Post-graduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or its equivalent.">
  • Good honours Degree in Psychology.">
  • Clinical supervision training for Doctoral Trainees.">
  • Doctoral level advanced knowledge of clinical psychology theory and practice, psychological therapies and their application, neuropsychological and psychometric assessment and interpretation.">
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development as recommended by the BPS and HCPC.">
  • Demonstration of further specialist training/experience through having received extensive and demonstrable clinical supervision of working as a clinical psychologist or an alternative agreed by the Director of Psychology.">
  • Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care, with experience of co-ordinating care within the context of multi-disciplinary care-planning.">

Salary and Benefits

">

The salary for this role is £54,392 - £71,430 per annum (Band 8a) depending on experience, plus a generous benefits package including pension scheme, annual leave and flexible working arrangements.

Location

This post is based at Wrexham Maelor Hospital, but you may be required to travel to other locations within North Wales as part of your duties.
