About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our domestic team as a Domestic Support Staff member. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and prioritize daily tasks to ensure efficient use of time and resources.
  • Treat patients and service users with dignity and respect, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Empty and dispose of domestic and clinical waste in accordance with Trust policies.
  • Carry out general cleaning tasks, including dusting, polishing, and cleaning of fixtures and fittings.
  • Supply and replenish consumables, such as paper towels and soap.
  • Clean sluice rooms, remove dirty linen, and replace linen bags.
  • Collect and load/unload dishwasher, and move and clean furniture as required.
  • Ensure all spillages are cleaned up promptly and hazard notices are placed appropriately.

Requirements
  • Experience of working as a domestic or in a similar role.
  • Ability to manage a varied workload and prioritize effectively.
  • Good communication skills, particularly with patients who are unwell or unable to communicate clearly.
  • Ability to deal with clinical waste, smells, bodily excretions/fluids, and dirt.
