About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Flood Risk Consultant to join our Water Environment team in Birmingham. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading flood risk assessments and modeling projects, mentoring junior consultants, and developing relationships with clients and regulators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead flood risk assessments and modeling projects, utilizing expertise in hydrological and hydraulic modeling.
  • Mentor and develop junior consultants, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Contribute to the development of the Water Environment team, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements, applying this knowledge to deliver high-quality results.
Requirements
  • Strong educational background in a water-related field, combined with significant experience in flood risk assessment and modeling.
  • Proven expertise in hydrological and hydraulic modeling, with a strong understanding of flood risk assessment methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, regulators, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently, with a high degree of autonomy, while also being a team player.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop effective solutions.
