Overview

Somerset Care, an award-winning not-for-profit care provider in the South West, is seeking a dedicated Care and Support Worker to join their Home Care Team in Wells and surrounding areas.

Salary

The pay rate for this role is £12.16 per hour, which includes a 30p travel enhancement. Additionally, you will receive enhanced pay for nights, weekends, and bank holidays.

About the Role

This position involves providing support to individuals within their own homes, out and about, with personal care, hobbies, or companionship. As a valued employee, you will have access to ongoing training to gain NVQ & Care qualifications, as well as the opportunity to start an Apprenticeship.

Requirements
  • A full valid driving licence and your own vehicle are required for this role.
  • You must have knowledge of the Wells area and be able to commute to Wells from your home location.
  • A Right to Work in the UK is necessary, as unfortunately, we are not able to offer sponsorship.
  • You will need to be available to work 7-2 and/or 4-10 across Monday to Sunday on a two-week rolling rota.
  • Alternate weekends are also required.
Responsibilities
  • Accompanying customers to appointments, shopping, preparing meals, and helping with daily living routines including washing, dressing, and personal care.
  • Providing companionship and making someone's day that little bit easier.
  • Understanding the care plan in place to support the customers being cared for.
  • Keeping clear and accurate records of the care and support provided at each visit.
  • Ensuring customers have eaten and are drinking enough to remain as healthy as possible.
  • Working with the team to raise any concerns regarding customers.
  • Light domestic duties.
  • Manual Handling - For anyone who may be less mobile.
