Job Title: Head Pastry Chef - Events

The Savoy, a Fairmont Managed Hotel, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Pastry Chef to lead our pastry team in delivering exceptional desserts and baked goods for events, banquets, and other special occasions and celebrations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and inspire a team of pastry chefs to deliver exceptional desserts and baked goods.
  • Develop and execute innovative pastry menus in collaboration with the Executive Pastry Chef.
  • Oversee all aspects of the pastry kitchen operations, including production, plating, and presentation.
  • Ensure seamless operations and collaborate closely with other department leaders.
  • Maintain adherence to high standards of food quality, consistency, and hygiene.
  • Manage inventory, procurement, and cost control to optimize profitability.
  • Train, mentor, and develop pastry team members to foster skill enhancement and professional growth.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, techniques, and best practices to continuously elevate the pastry program.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with event planners and clients to customize dessert offerings.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in a senior pastry role.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality desserts and baked goods.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
