Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Head of Children Services to lead our team in Swindon. This is a 3-6 month contract with potential for extension based on performance and internal circumstances.

  1. To develop and deliver a professional service within the relevant area.
  2. To support the development, management and delivery of Council services.
  3. Manage staff responsible for service delivery/support within the service area.
  4. To ensure the Council maximises service outcomes in relation to cost.
  5. Manage key relationships with delivery partners/providers/suppliers to commission/manage/evaluate/enhance appropriate service delivery/capacity within area of responsibility.
  6. Develop service plans to meet strategic business goals.
  7. Ensure the development and delivery of continuous improvements in all aspects of the service.
  8. Implement a risk management programme and advise on issues affecting Council service areas.
  9. Responsible for delivery of a rapid improvement programme to turn around an inadequate service and ensure statutory and regulatory compliance of the Reablement Service, within the exacting timeframes prescribed by CQC.

Requirements:

  1. SWE Registration
  2. 5 years' post qualifying experience within UK Social Care industry
  3. Managerial experience
  4. Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
  5. Eligibility to work in the UK
