Asbestos Compliance Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Regulatory Enforcement Manager to join our Repairs and Servicing Team at the West Lancashire Borough Council.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and guidelines related to asbestos in the council's housing stock. This will involve working closely with the Compliance Delivery Manager (Housing) to develop and implement effective strategies for managing asbestos risk.
The post holder will oversee the contractors responsible for asbestos removal and surveying, ensuring that statutory obligations are met and best practice is implemented. They will also promote and influence asbestos compliance throughout the organization, developing procedures to safeguard the health and safety of staff, visitors, contractors, and members of the public.
This is a challenging role that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of asbestos-related legislation and regulations, as well as experience in managing and mitigating risks associated with hazardous substances.
We estimate the salary for this role to be around £45,000 per annum, based on industry standards and the requirements of the position.
