Manufacturing Engineer Opportunity

Institute of the Motor Industry. limited is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in South Molton, Devon.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust, cost-efficient manufacturing processes and product structures consistent with lean manufacturing practices. This will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and implementing process changes to enhance efficiency and quality.

Requirements:

  1. Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, such as engineering or manufacturing.
  2. Detailed knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques, including value stream mapping, one piece flow, and Six Sigma concepts.
  3. Understanding of problem-solving methodologies, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
  4. Proficiency in various software applications, including Computer Aided Design, Computer Aided Manufacturing, and MS Office suite.
  5. Knowledge of manufacturing principles and technical specifications to support facilities competencies.
  6. Ability to lead cross-functional process improvement teams.

Desirable Skills:

  1. Detailed knowledge of engineering design and product reliability concepts.
  2. Understanding of ProLaunch and industry-specific quality processes.
  3. Knowledge of product and end-user application/specifications, including product testing requirements.
  4. Degree in Six Sigma or similar subject.
