Manufacturing Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at the Institute of the Motor Industry. limited.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust, cost-efficient manufacturing processes and product structures consistent with lean manufacturing practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement lean manufacturing techniques to improve process efficiency and reduce waste.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  3. Conduct root cause analysis and failure analysis to identify areas for improvement.
  4. Develop and maintain technical specifications and manufacturing documentation.
  5. Provide training and support to production staff on new processes and procedures.

Requirements:

  1. Degree qualified in a relevant discipline.
  2. Detailed knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques, including value stream mapping and one piece flow.
  3. Understanding of Six Sigma concepts and tools, including regression analysis and design of experiments.
  4. Thorough understanding of problem-solving methodologies, including thought maps and root cause analysis.
  5. Proficiency in various software applications, including Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Manufacturing.
  6. Knowledge of manufacturing principles and technical specifications.

Desirable:

  1. Detailed knowledge of engineering design and product reliability concepts.
  2. Understanding of ProLaunch.
  3. Knowledge of industry and customer specific quality processes.
  4. Knowledge of product and end-user application/specifications.
