Job Title: General Ledger Accounting SME

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Ledger Accounting SME to join our team at Aviva. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in managing and accounting for our newly acquired group of companies, Probitas.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for integrating Probitas into our finance system, ensuring accurate accounting under IFRS 17, and managing financial control. You will work closely with different stakeholders, including Probitas and teams across Aviva, to deliver high-quality financial results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own and deliver the conversion of the local GAAP trial balance into UKGI chart of accounts
  • Calculate and process IFRS 17 accounting into the UKGI general ledgers within agreed month-end close timetables
  • Account for consolidated and legal entity views into the ledger and own transactions
  • Support Balance Sheet reconciliation and financial reporting for the Probitas group of companies
Requirements:
  • Qualified accountant with knowledge of IFRS 17
  • Experience of operating strong financial control, consolidation, and elimination
  • Strong practical accounting capabilities, including intergroup, consolidation, and balance sheet analytics
