General Ledger Accounting Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to join Aviva's General Ledger accounting and control team.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced General Ledger accounting specialist to manage and account for the newly acquired group of companies, Probitas.

The role holder will be responsible for integrating Probitas into our finance system, ensuring accurate accounting under IFRS 17, and managing financial control.

A bit about the role:

The successful candidate will own and deliver the conversion of the local GAAP trial balance into UKGI chart of accounts, calculate the IFRS 17 accounting and process into the UKGI general ledgers within the agreed month end close timetables.

They will also be responsible for accounting for consolidated and legal entity views into the ledger and owning transactions, while working closely with the GI reporting and consolidation team to ensure accurate recording into the general ledger.

Skills and experience we're looking for:

  • Qualified accountant.
  • Knowledge of IFRS 17 preferable.
  • Conversion from local GAAP to IFRS preferable.
  • Experience of operating strong financial control, and of consolidation and elimination.
  • Strong practical accounting capabilities including intergroup, consolidation and balance sheet analytics.
