Fusion Energy Researcher

We are seeking a highly skilled plasma physicist, control engineer, or combination of the two to join our Plasma Operations Group (POG), to help us push the limits of plasma performance in our current ST40 tokamak and future high-field spherical tokamaks (STs).
Key Responsibilities:- Participate in planning, running, and analysis of experiments.
- Contribute to development of advanced plasma control solutions and PCS for commercial fusion reactors.
Estimated Salary: £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of fusion energy research and development, contributing to the design and operation of our experimental devices. You will work closely with our team of scientists and engineers to advance our understanding of plasma physics and develop innovative solutions for commercial fusion power plants.
The ideal candidate will have a higher degree in plasma physics, plasma control, control engineering, or a related field, and significant experience in magnetic fusion devices, operating them, and analysing their data. They will also have expertise in software development best practices and programming languages such as Python/C/C++/Bash.
