Role Overview:
As a Culinary Specialist, you will take charge of planning and delivering daily nutritious meals for our residents, ensuring that all ingredients are fresh and cost-effective. Your role will also involve upholding health, safety, and environmental standards within the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present high-quality meals that meet the dietary needs of residents.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to foster a positive and efficient working environment.
- Manage inventory and ensure that food purchases align with budgetary constraints.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience as a Chef, ideally within a healthcare or hospitality environment.
- Exceptional culinary skills and familiarity with diverse cooking methods.
- Understanding of nutritional guidelines and ability to create balanced menus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Effective time management skills and capacity to perform under pressure.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Experience in training and overseeing kitchen personnel.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays.
Certifications:
- Food Hygiene Certification (Level 2)
- First Aid Certification
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Food Preparation/Catering
