Lead Nurse

Job Summary
This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a skilled and experienced nurse to lead and motivate a team of healthcare professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe assessment and blood donation of donors, as well as maintaining the competency and skills of their team.
Main Responsibilities
- Take clinical responsibility for ensuring the safe assessment and blood donation of donors.
- Be accountable for the safe running of a blood donation session.
- Take responsibility for ensuring an excellent donor experience.
- Maintain the competency and skills of your team and yourself.
- Be able to adapt communication styles for difficult conversations.
- Maintain your professional development to help us deliver improvements to our practice.
About the Role
This is a shift-based role, with normal hours of 16.66 hours per week, 4 days per fortnight. The working days are Monday to Saturday, with some weekend and bank holiday working required.
Requirements
- Demonstrate leadership qualities and understand the principles of best practice to deliver high-quality care.
- Have experience of supporting the professional development of others.
- Have an understanding of clinical audit and research.
- Have experience of supporting improvements and change in practice.
- Have an awareness of patient safety initiatives and risk management.
- Have experience of working with information technology, such as hand-held devices and Microsoft Office packages.
