Job Overview

Hobson Prior is seeking a skilled Supply Chain Planner to collaborate with various departments to manage and control inventory of materials essential for Laboratory Operations and Quality Control release testing.

This role is based in Didcot, Oxfordshire, and requires a 5-day on-site presence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a warehouse inventory system and resupply requirements aligned with the production schedule.
  • Assist in generating part numbers and material specifications.
  • Coordinate with Warehouse, Manufacturing, and Finance to ensure materials are available as per production schedules for quality control release testing.
  • Request quotes from vendors, generate purchase requisitions in the ERP system, and manage requisition approvals for purchase order creation.
  • Track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Manage inventory and transfer chemicals/consumables to support laboratory operations based on forecast and consumption.
  • Assist Finance in establishing safety stocks for single-sourced components.
  • Support the facilities team in the day-to-day operation of the Milton Park facility.
  • Liaise with multiple functions to establish alternate suppliers.
  • Manage the cycle count program.
  • Assist with investigations, deviations, CAPAs, and Change Controls representing Supply Chain.
Requirements
  • A BSc or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in supply chain management.
  • Proficiency in using ERP systems.
  • Strong teamwork and flexibility to work towards common goals inter-departmentally and cross-functionally.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office, Word, and Excel.
