Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to join our team at Wood PLC. As a Senior Project Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering engineering excellence in our assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate and deliver engineering for assigned project scopes to schedule and in accordance with applicable procedures, specifications, and standards.
  • Engineering Delivery: Coordinate a series of activities performed by engineers and designers from one or more engineering disciplines to support the timely issuing of engineering deliverables to meet project specifications.
  • Quality and Compliance: Monitor and support compliance with quality, HSE, and assurance standards.
  • Schedule Preparation: Undertake basic schedule preparation, planning, and resource forecasting for engineering activities relating to the project.
  • Deliverables: Ensure accurate and timely delivery of work to the satisfaction of both internal and external customers.
  • Change Management: Alert Project Manager in the event of potential delays or change; support implementation of approved changes.
  • Technical Excellence: Coordinate and assure technical excellence of interdisciplinary project deliverables.
Key Accountabilities
  • Discipline Coordination: Coordinate discipline input to deliverables including Process/Utility Flow Diagrams, Engineering Flow Diagrams, and Line Lists.
  • Engineering Standards: Develop a working knowledge of engineering standards and procedures; participate in key events gaining practical experience.
  • HSES Implementation: Check Health, Safety, Environment, and Security (HSES) implementation by review against standards, procedures, work practices, and literature.
  • Project Procedures: Prepare straightforward project-specific procedures under guidance.
  • Schedule Management: Plan individual work activities and manage time; liaise with disciplines to ensure timely receipt of comments.
  • Project Schedule: Fully understand the requirements of the project schedule and hold regular reviews.
  • Engineer Expedite: Expedite engineers to deliver to schedule, fully understand reasons for delay, and assist in developing recovery plans.
  • Design Verification: Understand the requirements for Design Reviews.
Qualifications
  • Education: ISCED Level 6 Bachelor's (minimum) degree or Level 7 Masters (preferred) in an engineering discipline.
  • Experience: Extensive experience gained either as a discipline engineer in a project environment or in more junior project engineering roles.
  • Skills: Good understanding of technical work scope, key dates, and milestones; commercially astute and aware of the importance of Change control.
  • Attributes: Positive attitude to learn and develop; able to adapt to changing priorities; takes initiative and seeks out improvements; good communicator verbally and in written form.
