Electrical Engineer (Solar) Job Description

Red Recruitment is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer (Solar) to join our client, a leading company in the UK solar industry. The successful candidate will have a strong background in managing distributed rooftop solar PV asset portfolios and will be responsible for conducting reactive and scheduled preventative maintenance visits, system testing, and fault diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting site visits to ensure compliance with health and safety protocols
  • Performing system testing and fault diagnosis to identify and resolve technical issues
  • Supporting the development of technical documentation and procedures
  • Collaborating with the 'back-office' function to ensure seamless technical support
  • Staying up-to-date with legislative changes and best practices in the solar industry
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Safe Isolation certification
  • Proven experience in commercial and domestic rooftop solar PV
  • Strong technical understanding of solar PV systems
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Full driving license and willingness to travel
