Job Title: Compliance Manager

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000

Location: Bury St Edmunds

Overview:

Pearson Whiffin Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to play a key role in the development and management of the company's compliance function and quality management system.

  • Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards within the water services industry.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify compliance gaps or areas for improvement.
  • Support site teams in closing out compliance gaps and findings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business support functions to ensure compliance protocols are understood and followed.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes, best practices, and industry trends.
  • Provide guidance and training on compliance matters, including hazardous materials handling and emergency response protocols.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of compliance programs and make recommendations for enhancements.
  • Prepare reports on compliance activities, incidents, and mitigation plans.
  • Develop relationships with internal and external auditors, regulators, and industry associations to stay informed of compliance requirements.
  • Act as the point of contact for compliance-related inquiries, investigations, and audits.

The successful candidate will have/be:

  • Sound technical knowledge of the water industry and treatment elements.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Lead Auditor Certified.
  • NEBOSH diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management.
  • Proven track record of implementing and maintaining compliance management systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound judgments and decisions based on risk assessment.
  • Proficient with MS applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
