Helpdesk Administrator Weekends Only

The Technical Operations role at ION Group is a critical position that requires a high level of technical expertise and excellent communication skills. As a Technical Operations Specialist, you will work directly with clients, exchanges, and third-party vendors to ensure the smooth running of ION hosted environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate and resolve technical incidents assigned to you by the Service Desk.
- Prioritize and manage incidents effectively, keeping stakeholders informed and up-to-date on the internal incident tracking system.
- Communicate technical updates and solutions to clients in a clear and concise manner.
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of supported software, including database structure and configuration files, to assist in issue investigation and resolution.
- Oversee and test the deployment of direct-delivered software to ensure seamless integration and minimal disruption to clients.
- Identify and resolve unexpected events or failures that impact client use of supported systems.
- Conduct regular application and capacity system checks to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
- Build strong working relationships with other departments to ensure effective delivery of services to clients.
- Collaborate with 3rd party vendors and exchanges on software upgrades and market events.
- Adhere to best practices and department procedures for client communications, incident progression, and investigation.
- Participate in team shift patterns and assist with weekend work and out-of-hours escalation when required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong technical foundation in areas such as database technologies and system performance.
- Ability to read and understand code in one or more programming languages, including C++, TCL, and UNIX Scripting.
- Logical problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Initiative, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
- Dynamic, resilient, and objective approach to delivering rapid and accurate solutions to client incidents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident and professional demeanor.
- Ability to manage time and workload effectively.
- Cooperative approach to working with team members and other departments.
- Ability to view situations from a client perspective and act accordingly.
- Strong desire to develop a deep understanding of financial markets and business flows, as well as system functionality.
- Working knowledge of networks and network infrastructure is desirable.
