About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Portering Team at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing excellent patient care and support services to our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a flexible and efficient quality service extending care and consideration to patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Receive and prioritize work requests via our internal systems, taking prompt and appropriate action in a courteous and helpful manner.
  • Supervise and direct staff accordingly, ensuring optimum use of resources and delivering an effective and timely service to all users.
  • Undertake all portering and support worker duties, including dispatching, corridor clearance, furniture requests, and office moves.
  • Work closely with the Portering Operations Manager and other teams to prioritize operational requirements and contribute to the on-going development and delivery of our portering services.
  • Contribute to the delivery of a quality service to all patients, staff, and visitors in accordance with our Trust's purpose and values.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including shifts, nights, days, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic knowledge of healthcare services and procedures.
