About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Young Person's Resilience Worker to join our team in Gateshead. As a key member of our service, you will play a vital role in engaging young people in a range of interventions, using a person-centred approach, and empowering them to reduce risk, increase resilience, and lead safe, happy, and healthy lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage young people in a pragmatic and meaningful way, empowering them to access ongoing support.
  • Work closely with our partners within Mental and Physical health services to provide holistic support.
  • Assess need and develop collaborative packages of support for young people, including brief, harm reduction, 1:1, group, and clinical interventions.
  • Carry out comprehensive service user assessments and develop individual care plans that clearly identify how achieving each goal will enable progression in addressing substance use and related outcomes.
  • Work closely with the service's Safeguarding Lead to ensure all issues and concerns are escalated and dealt with quickly and effectively.
  • Carry out risk assessments and risk management plans.
  • Be responsive to the needs of young people, ensuring interventions are accessible and facilitating home visits, working with colleges, universities, etc.
About You
  • Experience of working with young people and knowledge of issues facing them today.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding concerns in relation to children, young people, and adults.
  • Understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience of forging strong working relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with young people who use substances and delivering training to different audiences in a variety of settings.
