An exciting opportunity exists for a Band 7 Biomedical Scientist to join the Cellular Pathology laboratory at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. With approximately 40,000 histology, cytology, and post-mortem samples handled annually, this is a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you can apply your skills and experience to make a real difference.

Job Description

This full-time role involves working Monday to Friday, with responsibilities including assisting the laboratory manager in implementing rapid onsite assessment clinics and MOHs clinics. You will be responsible for introducing new services and managing the quality of the department, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Additionally, you will support staff and students with training and competency completion.

Requirements
  • HCPC registration
  • MSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in a similar or larger establishment as BMS Band 6 in a supervisory role

The ideal candidate will possess strong laboratory technical, interpretative, and analytical skills, as well as the ability to work autonomously and flexibly. A high level of competence in quality management is also essential. Salary: £43,141 - £70,305 per annum (depending on experience).
