Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified clinician to join an enthusiastic cardiology team at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will support the cardiac pacing service and provide general cardiology and electrophysiology clinics, cardiology in-reach services, and cover for inpatient care on the cardiology ward.

Main Duties

The post will involve providing arrhythmia and general cardiology clinics, supporting the cardiac pacing service, and participating in plans to deliver a future seven-day cardiology service. The successful applicant will also join an existing team of six consultant cardiologists at Kingston Hospital.

About the Role

The Cardiology department at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has expanded rapidly in recent years, providing a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic inpatient and outpatient cardiology services. The new post has been created in response to increased demands for high-quality cardiology care to be delivered locally.

Requirements

  • Background in general cardiology with subspecialty qualification in cardiac electrophysiology
  • Experience of general Cardiology, simple and complex cardiac device implantation
  • Demonstrable commitment and ability to teach and train undergraduates and junior doctors
  • Effective communication skills, enthusiasm, and approachability

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will be on the GMC Specialist Register and hold a certificate of completion of training in Cardiology or be within six months of their CCT date at the date of interview.
