About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Ethical Commercial team at Boots as a Specialist in Prescription Medicines. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth and maximizing profit through effective commercial negotiations with pharmaceutical manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Ethical Commercial team in commercial negotiations to secure enhanced discounts on branded medicines and devices.
  • Identify opportunities to maximize margin on products with new and current suppliers by combining report analysis with industry knowledge.
  • Apprise pharmaceutical manufacturers of the benefits of entering into a Brand Equalization Deal (BED) and explain the implementation process.
  • Undertake negotiations with new suppliers to secure the best possible deals.
  • Collaborate with the Generics and Parallel Import category teams at Alliance Healthcare to support the preferred product selection process.

What You'll Need

To succeed in this role, you will need to have:

  • Excellent commercial negotiation skills and a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities for growth and maximize profit.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers and internal stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in commercial negotiations and a track record of success in driving business growth.

Desirable Skills

While not essential, it would be great if you also have:

  • Experience working in a similar role within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Knowledge of the Boots business and its operations.
  • Strong IT skills, with the ability to use a range of software applications.
