About the Role:

Maximus seeks a skilled and compassionate Nurse to join our team as a Disability Assessor. As a Nurse Functional Assessor, you will use your clinical expertise to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their daily life. This challenging yet rewarding role requires a strong understanding of physical and mental health conditions, as well as chronic pain disorders.

You will work on complex cases, conducting telephone, video, or face-to-face assessments to produce Work Capability Assessment (WCA) reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). Our comprehensive training program ensures you have the skills and support needed to thrive in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments to determine the impact of a person's disability or health condition on their daily life
  • Produce high-quality WCA reports to inform benefit eligibility decisions
  • Develop and maintain your clinical knowledge and assessment skills with regular feedback and supervision

Requirements:

  • A valid NMC registration number
  • At least one year of post-registration adult or mental health experience within or outside the NHS
  • The right to work in the UK is essential
  • Excellent communication and computer skills
