The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) is seeking a skilled Senior Research Engineer to join their team. As a key member of the Digital Engineering Team, you will be responsible for the independent technical delivery of projects and leadership in the development of project-related activities across the MTC.

You will lead project technical deliverables, ensuring work meets or exceeds agreed customer requirements, and is delivered within agreed budgets and timescales. This will involve undertaking innovative engineering research work, primarily focused on technology/manufacturing readiness levels (TRL/MRL) 3+, and demonstrating industrial project delivery.

Key responsibilities will include supporting senior managers with a proactive approach in the identification, technical specification, and delivery of new and novel technology capability into the MTC, customers, or industrial members' premises. You will also be responsible for generating key project and strategic initiatives in alignment with the theme's strategy, actively supporting the development of the theme business and technology strategy in a specific area of expertise.

As a self-motivated and self-starter, you will be able to work collaboratively and network effectively, recognising the contribution of others and working with a one MTC mind-set. Strong knowledge of the advantages and disadvantages of technologies and how different technologies may be more appropriate to specific inspection applications is essential.
