Role Overview:

As a Risk Analyst, you will play a critical role in identifying, measuring, and escalating key risks within the Banking and Markets business. You will work closely with business unit stakeholders to develop frameworks and standards to mitigate inherent risks.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, knowledge of the Capital Markets business, and experience in operational risk, controls, or audit. You will lead forums to review and advise on changes to the Capital Markets product offerings and work closely with second-line risk and compliance functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate and facilitate monthly forums to discuss inherent risks, risk profile changes, and mitigating controls
  2. Identify areas of highest risk and highlight key controls and control gaps to senior stakeholders
  3. Support the development of frameworks, enhanced standards, and related procedural documentation to strengthen the foundation and mitigate inherent risks
  4. Lead forums to review and advise on changes to the Capital Markets product offerings, including new products, product enhancements, and process changes
  5. Foster an environment for open dialogue with business partners and serve as a trusted advisor on risk-related issues
  6. Act as a liaison to the second-line risk and compliance functions and represent Risk on Steering Committees and/or Working Groups

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have:

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  2. Strong organization, attention to detail, time management, planning skills, and the ability to handle multiple competing priorities with a collaborative approach to work
  3. Ability to make independent decisions and be a team player and effective communicator to ensure that issues are appropriately resolved
  4. Inquisitive and enthusiastic approach to problem-solving
  5. Leadership and organizational skills to direct the activities for multiple business units
  6. Several years of financial services experience with strong experience in operational risk, controls, or audit
  7. Excellent working knowledge of audit, risk, and operational management concepts and the ability to understand and interpret the impact of decisions and identify and convey potential problem areas
  8. Confidence and expertise to advise management and the business
  9. Knowledge of Capital Markets or a business within Capital Markets
