Job Title: Paediatric Respiratory Medicine Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Respiratory Medicine Consultant to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical teams, and contributing to the development of our respiratory services.

About the Role

This is a 12-month locum post for maternity cover, providing an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and committed team that provides a comprehensive paediatric respiratory service for Oxfordshire, the Thames Valley, and Northamptonshire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a comprehensive paediatric respiratory service for children in the Thames Valley and Northamptonshire (approximate population 2 million)
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team including 3 consultant colleagues, providing a comprehensive paediatric respiratory service
  • Undertake clinic work and inpatient work, as well as taking an equal share in a 1 in 3 on-call service for paediatric respiratory medicine
  • Focus on work related to the paediatric respiratory sleep service
Requirements
  • Full GMC with licence to practice
  • MBBCh or equivalent
  • MRCPCH or equivalent
  • CCT in paediatrics and paediatric respiratory medicine or equivalent OR CESR OR within 6 months of achieving CCT at the time of interview;
  • Current APLS certification
  • Level 3 safeguarding training for children
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Higher Medical Degree PhD or MD or evidence of working towards a higher academic degree
  • Experience in interpreting respiratory polygraphy
