Electrical Maintenance Technician

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out industrial follow-on works from fixed wire testing, including remediation of observations and testing any limitations as a result.

They will also be required to carry out maintenance scheduled tasks (MST's) on SW Apparatus, swiftly and comprehensively fault-find and rectify problems on a variety of electrical issues, and deliver electrical compliance to the standard identified in the electrical skills matrix.

Additionally, the candidate will need to demonstrate an understanding of current electrical regulations to BS7671, complete and input into the required NICEIC Certification, and interpret RAMS and prepare daily briefings.

Requirements

  • Team player with knowledge of safe systems of work and a recognised industrial/commercial electrical Apprenticeship
  • ECS card (essential)
  • Experience of Scottish Water and/or industrial background (desirable)
  • Inspection and testing experience (Carrying out EIC's and EICR's)
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • HNC Electrical Engineering (Desirable)
  • City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/5 Test and Inspection qualification is desirable but subject to funding this could be provided for the right candidate
  • Driving Licence (essential)
  • Basic IT skills, Outlook, Excel, word
  • Understanding of electrical certification

The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years previous experience ideally within an electrical engineering background, with excellent technical skills and the ability to work as part of a team as well as on their own initiative.
