Maintenance Operations Assistant Job Description

Palé Hall is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Operations Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all hotel maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct weekly tests of the fire alarm system and record results in the compliance diary.
  • Identify and report any faults or defects relating to the fire alarm system or emergency lighting to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Perform monthly checks of the emergency fire doors and emergency lighting.
  • Adhere to a matrix of planned preventative maintenance, ensuring that routine inspections, services, and upgrades are scheduled and carried out when required using appointed contractors.
  • Conduct daily audits of front and back of house areas to ensure that all light bulbs are working and identify any maintenance requirements.
  • Maintain equipment of a mechanical nature, repairing if possible or appointing external contractors as necessary.
  • Perform basic in-house decorating, joinery, plumbing, and electrical tasks within your own limits of knowledge and skill.
  • Liaise daily with the Housekeeping department to ensure that all maintenance requirements are logged and completed in a timely manner.
  • Complete a daily task list for Reception at the end of each shift.
  • Ensure that chemicals and products within the maintenance department are used and stored correctly in compliance with COSHH regulations.
