Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Support Staff member to join our team as an Autism Support Worker. In this role, you will work closely with students with autism, providing personalized care and support to help them reach their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized care plans, working closely with teachers to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages independence and personal growth.
- Utilize effective communication strategies to build rapport and trust with students with autism.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including class teachers and other support staff, to ensure holistic support.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of students' progress and activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Support Staff member or similar role in a school or education setting.
- Understanding of autism spectrum conditions and evidence-based support strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of students with autism.
- A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
