Job Title: Senior Highway Design Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Highway Design Engineer to join our team at Marston Holdings. As a Senior Highway Design Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering and outlining detailed designs for minor and major highway schemes and traffic management projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver detailed designs for highway maintenance and improvement scheme designs in accordance with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) using AutoCAD and Civils 3D.
  • Produce highways 3D Engineering designs from 2D layouts, including existing and proposed models, cross section, long section, and contours.
  • Design and document civil infrastructure components of projects, including highway design and drainage design.
  • Conduct liaison and consultation with statutory authorities and undertakers as necessary to implement project construction.
  • Support the Highways Team in the management and delivery of services to clients.
  • Produce and check drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Communicate with suppliers, clients, contractors, and other engineers within the company.
  • Provide technical advice to junior staff on Highway Engineering projects.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and to budget.
  • Lead on projects, ensuring the company and Highways team deliver agreed commissions and meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Lead the engineering input at all stages of a project, from conceptual design to site monitoring.

Requirements:

  • Accredited degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • In-depth understanding of Highway Design and standards.
  • Knowledge of engineering design, related legislation, contract procurement, and contract administration.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience of developing feasibility and preliminary design for traffic and local roads problems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant technical and industry standards.
  • Good project management skills and financial management.
  • Strong knowledge of design computer programs, including Civils 3D and AutoCAD.

What We Offer:

  • Salary: £40,000 - £50,000.
  • Hybrid working with 2-3 visits a week to your local office.
  • Contract: Permanent.
  • Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Enhanced Maternity and Paternity Package, subject to eligibility criteria.
