About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our dynamic team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality speech and language therapy services to patients with complex communication and swallowing needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as an autonomous practitioner within the field of stroke/rehabilitation and conditions impacting communication and swallowing.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of patients.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and effective communication.
  • Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and develop care plans.
  • Conduct assessments and provide therapy to patients with complex communication and swallowing needs.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure effective communication and care.
Requirements
  • Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent.
  • Health Professions Council Licence to Practice.
  • Registered Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
  • Evidence of relevant postgraduate training in specialist area.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Leadership training.
  • Postgraduate advanced accredited dysphagia training.
  • Experience of staff management.
  • Experience of conducting or being involved in research in the specialist area.
