About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing specialist input to patients with voice, swallowing, and communication difficulties due to head and neck cancer or oncological conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage patients with swallowing, communication, and voice disorders due to head and neck cancer at any stage of their treatment
  • Work closely with the SLT Team Leaders, Peer Specialist Speech and Language Therapists, and NQP Speech and Language Therapists to provide an excellent level of care to our patient group
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to improve patient outcomes
  • Contribute to the development of the SLT service and participate in service development and audit
  • Train junior colleagues and students
