Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs. As a Teaching Assistant in this role, you will work closely with our teaching staff to provide individualized support to pupils with a wide range of needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to pupils with complex needs, including moving and handling, personal care, and postural management.
  • Assist with the implementation of individual education plans and support pupils with their learning and personal care needs.
  • Promote independence and inclusion within the school community.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to create engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress.

Requirements

  • Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs.
  • Strong understanding of the individual needs associated with MLD, SLD, ASD, sensory impairments, and physical disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's development.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Teaching Assistant qualification, CACHE Level 2, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
  • Legal right to work in the UK.
