About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Academic HR to join our team at the University of Oxford. As a key member of the Social Sciences Division, you will play a pivotal role in leading a professional and coordinated service to the academic departments, ensuring efficient and effective systems and processes are in place to meet the needs of key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team to provide a service to the academic departments, including strategic and operational HR responsibilities.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment legislation and University policy and procedure.
  • Build excellent links with departmental colleagues to understand their issues and provide flexible and solutions-focused support.
  • Attend senior leadership team meetings and contribute to the development of the Division's strategy.
  • Manage a senior policy portfolio at the divisional level of an organisation with autonomy and diplomacy.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Education to degree level or equivalent.
  • Qualification to CIPD graduate level or above, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to manage a team to provide a service in a complex setting.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Experience of developing constructive and influential working relationships with key stakeholders.
