Cardiff, Cardiff, United Kingdom PartB Full time

PartB is seeking a highly skilled Fire Safety Consultant Lead to join our team in Wales. This pivotal role will involve leading and developing a team of Forensic Fire Surveyors, conducting detailed site inspections, and reporting on fire safety compliance.

This is a fantastic opportunity to utilise your expertise in fire safety, external wall systems, and compartmentation/firestopping to drive organisational goals and client expectations forward. You will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments of building cladding systems and passive fire protection measures to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct external wall cladding assessments and compartmentation/firestopping surveys on buildings to evaluate fire performance and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Prepare detailed reports that will inform a fire engineer to create Fire Risk Appraisal of External Wall Systems (FRAEWS) and External Wall Fire Review (EWS1) forms, in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Identify fire risks associated with cladding and firestopping systems and advise on appropriate remediation strategies.

We are looking for someone with a degree in Civil Engineering, Building Surveying, Fire Engineering, Façade Engineering, or a related discipline, or 10 years of recognised prior experience in these fields. Chartered status (RICS, IFE, CIOB, CABE) or working towards membership is highly desirable.

A proven track record in façade/external wall inspections, fire consultancy, or building surveying, with a focus on fire safety, external wall systems and compartmentation/firestopping is essential. Significant understanding of cladding systems, curtain walling, materials, and their fire performance characteristics is also required.

The successful candidate will have strong technical report-writing skills and the ability to clearly communicate complex fire safety issues. A competitive salary of £55,000 is negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
