Senior Veterinary Surgeon Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated veterinary professional to provide exceptional care to animals in a dynamic and collaborative environment at GLG Vets in Sherborne, Dorset. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners.

Job Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Veterinary Surgeon to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine examinations, diagnostics, and treatments on a variety of animals, as well as conducting surgical procedures as needed. They will also provide guidance and advice to pet owners on general care, feeding, and wellness, while maintaining accurate records of patient histories, treatments, and progress.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine examinations, diagnostics, and treatments on a variety of animals.
  • Conduct surgical procedures as needed, including spaying, neutering, and other minor surgeries.
  • Collaborate with veterinary nurses and support staff to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
  • Provide guidance and advice to pet owners on general care, feeding, and wellness.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient histories, treatments, and progress.

Qualifications and Skills Required:
  • Veterinary degree from a recognized institution.
  • Valid veterinary license to practice in the UK.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Compassionate and caring approach to animals.
