About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support children with SEMH needs in a Year 5 class at our school. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about creating a nurturing environment where children can thrive.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with behavioural needs and possess empathy, patience, and a caring nature. They will also have a solid understanding of sensory processing issues and communication challenges.

About the Job

  • Assist a teacher with classroom management and student behaviour during morning sessions
  • Evaluate potential risks to ensure children's safety and well-being
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and take initiative
  • Apply knowledge of the KS2 curriculum in daily activities
  • Communicate clearly with children and adults, both verbally and in writing

  • You should be able to do the job as described
  • Possess adaptability and ability to work independently and within a team
  • Have strong relationship-building skills with children
