Job Title: SEN Learning Support Assistant

As a SEN Learning Support Assistant at GSL Education, you will play a vital role in providing targeted support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), contributing to their academic and social development.

  • Work closely with teachers and SENCO to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with diverse learning needs.
  • Adapt learning materials to suit the individual needs and abilities of students.
  • Assist with the implementation of behaviour management plans.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting a sense of inclusion and belonging.
  • Collaborate with the wider school team to create an inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as an SEN Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role is advantageous.
  • Understanding of various SEN conditions and strategies to support individual needs or willingness to learn.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, empathetic, and positive attitude towards supporting students with SEN.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity within the school community.
