About the Role

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract position, ideally starting in January, for a Senior Commercial Finance Manager to lead our financial management and control function. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the monthly accounting and reporting cycle, ensuring all reporting and commentary is accurate and on time.

You will work closely with our senior leadership teams, staying close to the pulse of what's changing in the e-commerce landscape, and delivering exceptional service to our customers. Your role will involve leading a team of six people, reporting to the Head of Finance, and collaborating with other core finance teams to drive process improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the team through the month-end close, helping troubleshoot problems and identifying areas for future improvement.
  • Complete ownership of the monthly accounting and reporting cycle, ensuring all reporting and commentary is accurate and on time.
  • Present key results to senior leadership, including the CFO and other Execs.
  • Business partner with members of the executive team to support their financial objectives.
  • Support the FP&A team and guide your own team through the annual budget and quarterly reforecasting.
  • Support the Group Reporting team and guide your own team through the annual and half-year accounts preparation, working directly with the group auditors as needed.
  • Work closely with other core finance teams to gain a full understanding of any developments impacting your areas of responsibility.
Requirements
  • A qualified senior accountant with broad experience (4+ years PQE).
  • Excellent team management skills to support and encourage your direct team.
  • Background in financial management, internal control, and management reporting.
  • Proven track record in developing processes for operational change and enhancing existing processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Naturally inquisitive and analytical mindset, able to quickly grasp complex systems and processes, explaining and presenting them to others in an easy-to-understand way.

Estimated salary range: £90,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
