Learning Disability Teaching Assistant

As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with special educational needs. This position involves working with pupils who require additional support, including those with autism and other learning disabilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing individualised support to students, developing effective strategies to engage them, and establishing positive relationships with teachers, parents, and colleagues. Strong communication skills and a patient approach are essential for this role.
You will need to reside in the UK and have the right to work here, as well as hold an Enhanced DBS or be willing to apply for one. Contactable references are also required. Estimated Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting pupils with a range of needs, including Asperger's, Autism, ADHD, speech and/or language difficulties, cerebral palsy
- Working with children who exhibit challenging behaviour
- Implementing successful strategies to engage pupils with specific and significant needs
- Flexible and adaptable timetabling and daily routines
- Excellent communication skills
- Liaising with parents and relevant staff
