Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Special Education Needs Support Specialist to join our team at Thebridge School, located near central London. About the Role

This position requires an individual with experience in supporting learners with challenging behaviour, QTS / PGCE qualification or equivalent, and familiarity with Makaton Sign Language. You will work closely with students, colleagues, and parents to develop and implement individual support plans, ensuring that each learner receives the necessary support to achieve their academic and functional goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with Special Education needs in a classroom setting, adapting teaching methods to meet individual learning styles and abilities.
  • Developing and implementing individual support plans in collaboration with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress and participating in regular review meetings.

Requirements:

  • QTS / PGCE qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working with learners with challenging behaviour, Makaton Sign Language, and autistic learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
