Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Bioinformatics Lead to join our Machine Learning and Bioinformatics team in Cambridge (UK) and Boston (US). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for proposing, designing, implementing, and developing solutions for complex bioinformatics applications that will impact life-changing products and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work at the forefront of innovation in life sciences, collaborating with internal and external partners to develop next-generation solutions.
  • Propose and design solutions for difficult and complex bioinformatics applications, leveraging your expertise in NGS analysis pipelines, antibody or protein structural modeling, and immune repertoire sequencing.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality Python code using bioinformatics libraries, with a focus on rapid prototyping and scalability.
  • Lead projects and supervise bioinformatic developers and analysts, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Collaborate internationally with skilled colleagues to identify, plan, develop, and deliver production-quality, cloud-based solutions.
  • Have the opportunity to grow and develop in a fast-paced, growing business with a focus on machine learning and bioinformatics.

Requirements

  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Bio-Medical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Five years or more of relevant experience in bioinformatics, with a strong background in NGS analysis pipelines, antibody or protein structural modeling, and immune repertoire sequencing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a dynamic multidisciplinary environment.
  • Experience in leading projects and supervising people, with a strong focus on team management and collaboration.
  • Ability to rapidly prototype, write, and maintain high-quality Python code using bioinformatics libraries.
  • Strong understanding of data and statistical analysis, with experience in R and statistical analysis.
  • Experience in software development practices and operating in an MLOps environment.
  • Attention to detail and highest coding standards, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
