Deputy Chief Midwife Role Overview

The Deputy Regional Chief Midwife position is a key leadership role within the Midlands Region, supporting the Regional Chief Midwife and Regional Consultant Obstetrician. This exciting opportunity aligns with the ambitions of the Long-Term Plan and national maternity priorities.

We are seeking a skilled professional to provide strategic leadership and guidance regionally, focusing on key objectives such as the maternity workforce and leadership agenda. The successful candidate will support programmes of work related to maternity policy, strategy, and professional priorities, ensuring high-quality, safe, and personalized health care across the region.

This fixed-term contract offers a developmental opportunity for the successful candidate, lasting 12 months. During this period, the post holder will be responsible for delivering key objectives, including leading on the maternity workforce and leadership agenda, and supporting initiatives that promote high-quality care.

Earnings: £38,700 per year (or higher), based on market rates.
