Job Title: Specialist Youth Advisor

We are seeking an enthusiastic and flexible Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist unit supporting students with additional learning needs and social, emotional and mental health issues.

About the Role

This role will focus on encouraging children to engage with the basics of the curriculum and dealing with behavioural challenges. You will be able to demonstrate skills in relating to children who have barriers to learning, including additional learning needs.

You will be able to communicate and deal with pupils in a calm but firm manner in small groups or on a one-to-one basis, both in school, ensuring that every student is making progress in line with their ability.

The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience working with pupils who can demonstrate challenging behaviours. The position is open to all experienced candidates and those who have a strong background in mentoring children and young adults.

Minimum rate of pay: GBP100 per day
Hours: Mon-Fri (term time only)

Requirements

Previous experience in a similar setting / SEMH / PRU
LEVEL 2 Teaching Assistant or equivalent and above is preferable
GCSE Maths and English and Computer literate

Eligibility
  1. Hold Right to Work in the UK
  2. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  3. Provide two professional child-related references that cover at least the last two years
