Therapeutic Gardening Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at the Down to Earth Community Garden in Braintree. As a Volunteer Gardener, you will play a vital role in helping us build connections to nature through therapeutic horticulture and volunteering.

The garden is a vibrant community space located in the heart of Braintree, featuring various groups for vulnerable adults every Thursday from 10 a.m. Our goal is to use the garden as a tool for recovery clients from charities such as Open Road and for patients via social prescribing, particularly those dealing with long-term/chronic illnesses.

A key aspect of our garden is the social element, which includes regular breaks for tea and biscuits. You will have the opportunity to participate in gardening activities, including planting, weeding, and pruning, while contributing to a welcoming environment for visitors and volunteers.

To be successful in this role, you will require no prior gardening experience, as training will be provided. Availability on Thursdays between 10 a.m. and 16:00 p.m. is essential.
