Role Purpose:

As a Senior Scientist, you will be accountable for the development and scale-up of new downstream processes for biologics manufacture at Lonza.

Key Accountabilities and Experience:
  • Design, execute, and deliver multiple projects related to biologics process development.
  • Bring a minimum of 5 years of industry or relevant experience in purification experimental work, including chromatography, ultrafiltration, and diafiltration.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects and escalate technical and customer issues in a timely manner.
  • Critically review and interpret raw data to produce high-quality process knowledge.
  • Write reports to a publication standard and represent the department in multi-disciplinary customer project teams.
  • Provide scientific input into customer proposals and support sales efforts.
  • Coach, mentor, and train junior members of the department as required.
  • Initiate problem-solving and troubleshooting activities.
  • Operate to GMP/GDP standards and participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota to respond to alarms on cold storage units.
